The Academy for the Elderly of Eastern Hungary was initiated eight years ago in Nyíregyháza, and the following year in Szolnok, organised by the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Debrecen in cooperation with local governments, the Mihály Váci Cultural Centre in Nyíregyháza and the Aba-Novák Agóra Cultural Centre in Szolnok.
There are more and more elderly people in our society who, like young people, want to learn, want to be respected and to be active members of society. The Academy for Older People aims to help them to do this again this year with its series of educational lectures.
Performances will be held at the Mihály Váci Cultural Centre in Nyíregyháza and the Aba-Novák Agóra Cultural Centre in Szolnok. Attendance is free of charge.
