The first issue of the Hungarian Journal of Gerontology was published in January 2009 with the intention to provide a platform for the scientific and professional achievements of gerontology in Hungary, emphasizing the interdisciplinary approach of gerontology. In more than a decade of activity, the journal has remained unchanged in its basic principles, providing a platform for the publication of national and international contributions from the disciplines and co-disciplines of ageing and their respective areas of expertise, and for the dissemination of international contributions that define the scientific and professional achievements of the country.
