The primary mission of the Department is to teach up-to-date knowledge in epidemiology and biostatistics within undergraduate and graduate public health programs. In addition, the Department is responsible for coordinating public health, biostatistics, prevention, and surveillance methodology courses across all study programs at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Our research activities focus on the epidemiology of communicable and non-communicable diseases, the health effects of environmental and occupational exposures, and the epidemiology of health behaviors.
